A Happy HELLO from Ted

It’s been nearly three years since we bid adieu to four-year-old Ted and his adoptive family as they departed for Canada, so we were thrilled when this Angel House alumnus sent us a happy “hello” to catch us up on what he’s been up to.

You might remember when Ted came to us in 2019 as a two-month-old infant. He was all smiles from the start, and that hasn’t changed one bit! This busy kindergartner made quite a leap from tropical Haiti to the frosty north, but he has settled in and is loving every minute of life.

The first few months brought plenty of adjustments—a new language, a new home, new people, unfamiliar foods, life on a farm, and SNOW! But it didn’t take long for this happy and curious little boy to not only find his way, but to truly thrive.

While some familiar favorites, like a new bike and a trampoline, helped Ted feel right at home, he has also discovered plenty of new passions. Crafting with hot glue and popsicle sticks, baking, pepperoni pizza, nachos, the color red, helping on the farm, playing in the snow, spending time with his dog, cat, and chicken friends, and absolutely anything involving fast cars all rank high on his list. There never seems to be a shortage of adventures for this on-the-go little boy who has energy to spare!

One thing Ted wasn't quite as excited about at first was kindergarten. These days, however, he’s enjoying discovering new things, making friends, and exploring a whole new world of learning.

Ted and his family have also been working on something special together: learning Haitian Creole. We love seeing his family not only embrace his future but also honor his roots and celebrate the culture that will always be part of his story.

Most importantly, Ted is thriving in the love of his forever family and adores having siblings who dote on him. His parents describe him as a loving, delightful, and wonderfully energetic child, and they can’t imagine life without him. We have a feeling Ted feels exactly the same way.

Thank you for saying hello, Ted! We loved hearing from you and seeing all the ways you’ve grown. We continue to thank God for the beautiful life unfolding before you and are so grateful to see you happy, healthy, and deeply loved.
